The Regulator of Social Housing today confirmed rent levels for 2024/25.
Following much conjecture about the repeat of a rent cap, the government has decided to revert to its old rent setting formula for 2024/25 – CPI +1% based on the September inflation figure of 6.7%.
In a statement, DCLG said: “As set out in the response to last year’s consultation on social housing rents, government policy is for rents to be permitted to increase by up to CPI +1% in 2024-25. We will consult on future social housing rent policy in due course.”
